The following example demonstrates the results of our work.
Thanks to mobile networks, we confirmed what statisticians, economists and regional specialists suspect:
- The fact of usual residence differs significantly depending not only on the site but also over time, period and duration of the observation.
- Significant population changes during the week instead of its lodging and by far not only on weekends.
- 80% of the population leave their home daily, while the census of houses and apartments declares only 20%.
Significant for the use in business and public administration is that we know how to link new information with existing information and say where, when and by how much.
Worldwide, homogeneous and sustainable source of information. Each event in the mobile network, whether triggered by a mobile terminal user or forced by the network, is recorded and stored. The degree of technical developments in the field of information processing, digitization, visualization and analytic, enables use of this data in another way. Resulting information is spatio-temporal mobility.
